Day 1
Depart via the scenic
Sir Lowry's Pass and the apple orchards of Grabouw to the historic town of
Swellendam. Continue via the Tradouw and Huis Rivier Passes through the folded
sandstone mountain range. Experience the semi-desert areas of the Klein Karoo
and visit the towns of Barrydale and Calitzdorp before arriving in the 'ostrich
capital' Oudtshoorn.

Day 2
After breakfast
visit the famous Cango Caves. Time permitting we visit the Crocodile and Cheetah
Ranch (optional). Continue to an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour, and then
over the Robinson Pass to Mossel Bay to visit the old 'Post Office Tree' and
on to Knysna.

Day 3
After breakfast,
travel to Port Elizabeth via Plettenberg Bay known as the "millionaires'
playground" and the rainforests of the Tsitsikamma Mountains.

Day 4
Continue through
the Addo Elephant National Park and onto Grahamstown, the "city of churches".
This cultural centre boasts a wide variety of interesting sites including
Rhodes University and historical early settler architecture and monuments.
You will also visit the fascinating 'Camera Obscura' allowing you a bird's
eye view of the city. Arrive at your game lodge in time for an afternoon game
drive in Open Safari Vehicles with experienced rangers.

Day 5
Travel through the
former homelands Ciskei and Transkei. Outside Umtata we visit the Nelson Mandela
museum, as well as follow in the early footsteps of Nelson Mandela's youth
at his home village of Qunu and experience Xhosa traditions and cuisine.

Day 6
Depart Umtata to
the Wild Coast. The route is superb in its unspoilt beauty. Stop at Cremorne
where the wreck of the famous Grosvenor can be seen. Proceed to Port St. Johns
where the Mzimvubu river reaches the sea through towering cliffs and thick
indigenous forest. Visit the 142 meter Waterfalls on the Magwa river. Through
the tea plantations and local villages and onwards to Ramsgate. After a short
tea stop we continue up the South Coast to Durban.
