Day
1
We depart from Cape
Town and travel to Worcester via Du Toits Kloof Mountain pass. At Worcester
we visit the fascinating open-air museum, a live and interesting exhibition
dedicated to the farming community. Lunch is arranged at a restaurant in Montague.
We then travel through the mountains to the Little Karoo. Changing scenery
from lush farmland to semi-desert areas make this a day of surprises. A warm
welcome awaits us from the staff of the Riempies Estate Hotel where we overnight.

Day 2
Awake to the freshness
of the Karoo air. After a good breakfast we visit the world famous Cango Caves
where we take the guided tour lasting over an hour - full of fascination.
We set off to the Crocodile Farm to see the breeding of these quite frightening
reptiles, but even more fascinating is the ostrich and we visit the
Highgate Ostrich Farm for a tour and lunch. The late afternoon brings us to
Knysna and our overnight stay is at the Point Hotel. (Or similar)

Day
3
After an early breakfast,
we go aboard a real steam train, one that travels along one of the world's
most picturesque train routes. Enjoy a seaside window. The two and a half
hour journey brings us to Knysna where we set sail on the lagoon. This peaceful
and tranquil waterway is one of the country's most beautiful settings. Lunch
is aboard the boat after which we step ashore to rejoin the tour coach. In
the afternoon we travel into the heart of the Garden Route visiting the Tsitsikamma
Forest. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
After breakfast
we depart for Mossel Bay along the scenic coastal route. At Mossel Bay we
visit the historic Post Office Tree where early navigators left mail for the
homebound ships to Europe. Our route to Swellendam is via farmlands and rolling
hills. Swellendam is full of romantic history and we visit the Drostdy Museum.
In the afternoon our route takes us through charming Hermanus, seaside retreat
of the wealthy and famous. We arrive back in Cape Town after four fabulous
days!
The Tour can also be terminated in Port Elizabeth or be done in reverse.
